Electricity Project nearly in completion
Work on the new Power house is reported to be progressing well.
In an interview with the General Manager of the Tuvalu Electricity Corporation - Mr Mafalu Lotolua, he stated that the work is now in its final phase.
Meanwhile, the workers have completed the laying of all cables from the Southern end to the Northern end of Funafuti, but as Lotolua says the Corporation will continue to shut down the power for residents on weekends so they can carry out minor works on substations on the island.
Lotolua expresses his apology to all electricity consumers on the capital for any inconvenience this work may have caused.
Tuvalu news gathered that the work, being carried out by the Dai Nippon Construction Company, on the new Power house is expected to complete on the 22nd of December 2006.
