PM BACK FROM FORUM
Prime Minister of Tuvalu Hon Apisai Ielemia and his delegation has returned to the country yesterday after attending the Pacific Leaders’ Forum meeting held in Nadi, Fiji last week.
In an interview with Tuvalu news yesterday afternoon Prime Minister stated that at the Forum - leaders of developing countries met and talked about issues relevant to the developing of these island nations.
The Forum which lasted three days had issues like the Pacific Plan, labour Mobility which Tuvalu raised, the amalgamation of all regional organizations - and climate change which he said had been absent in a lot of regional talks recently.
He is happy with the outcome of the meeting, which includes the offer from Australia and New Zealand for islanders from members of the Forum islanders to work in farms as fruit pickers. He told Tuvalu news that he looks forward to have the talked about issues implemented in Tuvalu which can result from working together cooperatively.
Details of his trip to the Forum will be posted on Wednesday this week after Mr Prime Minister had presented the result of it to his Cabinet ministers today.
