Avafoa’s Trip to People’s Republic of China

For the first time, secretaries from the Pacific were invited to the weeklong Education Forum for Asia that took place in Beijing, China.
The Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Sports, Mr Avafoa Irata, represented Tuvalu at the event.
Speaking to Tuvalu news, Mr Irata says the discussion in the meeting was basically focused on the strategies and mechanism on International Corporation on Education between Asia and Pacific Islands.
Mr Irata also says?representatives also discussed the current status and progress of education in the Asian countries and Pacific Islands.
Mr Irata’s trip to the Forum was sponsored under the Ministry of Education in the People’s Republic of China.
