NBT opens branch in Nanumaga

The Branch of the National Bank of Tuvalu NBT on Nanumaga Island was officially opened on Monday this week.
Invited guests assembled at quarter to two in the afternoon before the arrival of the Island Leader Paneta Hauma who was the Chief guest of the ceremony.
Speeches were presented from the President of the Kaupule Opeta Mumuni and from the NBT Representative Olapea Apinelu.
The pastor’s wife Mrs Vita Teleke Peleti cut the ribbon for the new office and was followed with the presenting of gifts to the Kaupule and the Island’s Pastor.
Feasting was held before speeches, and then desert of ice-cream was served.
The highlight of the ceremony was the entertainment from the Lotohoni Nuti Dancing Group.
