Overstayers reminded of their status
By Diana Semi
The Tuvalu Immigration office has moved to remind foreigners in the country who have overstayed the period allowed in their visas.
According to reports from the office, letters of reminders have been dispatched to those concerned, informing them of their immigration status.
Among those are Nauruans holding Nauruan passports and who traveled on the chartered trips of the Tuvaluan vessels during repatriation of the Tuvaluan workers from Nauru in the middle of this year.
Chief Immigration officer Tepau Sotaga say at the moment overstayers in Tuvalu amount to more than two hundred, and they have all been sent reminding letters about this as is the normal practice.
The overstaying Nauruans have been given a month to make arrangements with the office about their stay in the country.
