TuFHA reaches out to national soccer team

By Diana Semi

A one night workshop was organized by the Tuvalu Family Health Association TuFHA for Tuvalu National Soccer team to the South Pacific Games in 2007.

Programme Officer for TuFHA Mr. Taufala Nia told Tuvalu news the workshop was organized upon a request by the National Team that they need more awareness and understanding on the issues of Sexual Transmitted Infections.

Three motivators conducted the workshop including Mrs Melelita Leauma who talked on the STI and ways of preventing it, Tuima Sui focused her talk on the misuse of alcohol and Amouta Falani talked on the use of the new condom.

Participants found the workshop very beneficial and useful and that they gained a lot of understanding on the issue and how to prevent them from having STI.

Report added TuFHA is so happy that its awareness programs are reaching out to organizations, and its staff are hoping to organize more awareness workshops for more national teams to the SPG.
