Tuvalu did not attend Commonwealth meeting

By Yvette D’Unienville

The Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group meeting held in London recently was not attended by Tuvalu.

According to reports received, the group in its meeting settled on suspending Fiji from its decision making council for the third time in 20 years due to the overthrow of democracy in the coup.

The commonwealth also suspended its technical assistance program which has helped Fiji in reviving laws, managing debts and negotiating with the World Trade Organisation.

Tuvalu is a member of the Commonwealth and Tuvalu news believes Tuvalu will attend a meeting only upon invitation.
