Business people in the country can get assistance in developing their businesses from the newly set up Private Sector Organisation of Tuvalu ( PISOT).

The Chairman of PISOT Puafitu Faalo told Tuvalu news, the organisation tries to help businesses whether big or small.

In addition, the main reason behind establishing the organsition is to upgrade the standard of the Private Sector in Tuvalu, thus eradicate hardship and poverty in the nation and create more job opportunities.

When asked why PISOT does not join the Tuvalu National Chamber of Commerce, Faalo explained that PISOT’s objective is a quite different from TNCC’s, however it is much better now that there are two organisations for businesses to opt for.

About 40 members have now joined PISOT, and there is also a committee to run the organisation according to its Constitution which has been approved on November 13th as well as its 2007 budget.
