Families with chores to be done but do not have time to will now have no problem getting them done even if they don’t do it themselves, thanks to the services of a new group of young men.
The Amaka Club is a group of young men from a part of Alapi village that aims to help out families who need chores done, for a small price.
They saw a need in every family and either were asked to help or they offered their services to the families.
Leader of the Club Maika Maika told Tuvalu news they have been working together for over 8 months and there is a big demand for their services by local people.
He stated that in this day and age, there is a great deal of things going on besides work in offices and in individual families, and family chores are always postponed despite their urgency and priority.
Some of the group’s services include getting a garden ready, building pigpens, clearing rubbish, and building simple houses like a Tuvaluan umu.
Maika stated that customers only have to pay for all materials like compost, fencing and sand for gardening; and sand, gravel, and fencing for pigpens, as well as all materials needed for any job.
The club will do the rest of the hard work.
Maika emphasized that they aim to help anybody who has family chores they would like to have done but never have time to do them.
He hopes this year will bring keep the Club busy, and also hopes for good business so they purchase equipment needed to carry out their chores.
