Taiwan’s Technical Mission in Tuvalu will be very popular this year after garden specialist Mr Song-Pey Lee won a very hard to get award last year.
International Cooperation Development Fund ICDF’s representative in the country Lin ? Yen Jen told Tuvalu news Mr Lee was awarded the BEST SERVICE SPECIALIST 2006.
Mr Lee has won the award for all three global areas including Africa, Central America and the Caribbean and Asia and the Pacific.
It was reported that Mr Lee won the award because of the hard work that he had done for Tuvalu agriculture considering the poor soil ? and the phrase that there is no agriculture in Tuvalu.
Despite that Lee works hard and shows dedication into experimenting new ways of making vegetables grow.
Mr Lin said that every year all 32 teams around the world nominate their best candidate for the award and upon evaluation, a nominee might win the award if they have the full support of their immediate leaders, team members, and relationship with the local government.
In Lin’s case he had Taiwan’s Embassy’s support, his leaders’ support and Minister of Natural Resources endorsed his nomination.
