Niutao touring team returns from Niutao island

The Niutao touring team from New Zealand returned from their home island yesterday morning and was cheerfully welcomed by the Niutao community at the Fakaiaiamanu Falekaupule.
Refreshment was prepared and served by the community at the Falekaupule.
Report says members of the touring team shared the wonderful tales of their time in Niutao especially meeting their families for the first time after so many years apart.
The touring team arrived in Tuvalu sometimes in December last year.
According to reports their feast was followed with local dancing.
The touring team in return, showed their appreciation by presenting 10 bags of rice, 10 cartons of corned beef and 10 tins of biscuit.
The touring team is now waiting for their return to New Zealand on the next available ship via Fiji.
