TUFHA committed to protect our young seafarers from stis.

By Yvette D’Unienville

The Tuvalu Family Health Assocition TUFHA is committed to give as much knowdege to trainee seamen on sexual transmitted infections and family planning .

One of TUFHA's major project this year is community outreach, especially to those needing the assitance of TUFHA.

For this project, the main target for TUFHA is the Tuvalu Maritime Institution as the trainees will turn into seamen who will be employed to work on overseas vessels.

TUFHA Program officer Taufala Nia says, that when the trainees become real seamen and go overseas they will face a lot of temptations but TUFHA needs to reach them first and impart to them sound knowledge on sexual transmitted infections.

Not only that they will also be given information on family planning.

Taufala adds, that the knowledge will help the trainees for the time when they will have their own families.

The programme is fund by TUFHA.
