Cake for Tutasi's 60th Anniversary

By Lina Malaki

The first students of the Tutasi Primary school on Nukufetau were the special guests at the last part of celebrations for the island community of Nukufetau.

Mr Laloniu Samuelu and Mr Kutiolo Kine attended Tutasi Primary school in 1947, and they were given the honour to cut the 60th anniversary of Te aso o Tutasi during the function last Sunday.

After their hymn competition, the 3 storey cake which was prepared by the community was cut by Mr Kine and Mr Samuelu for everyone to toast the 60th anniversary of Tutasi.

Both Samuelu and Kine, when they delivered their speeches encouraged members of the Nukufetau community on the capital to assist their children to work and study hard to establish a good name for Tutasi.

They wrapped up their program with the presentation of the Alovaka Trophy to the winning team, Lafaga for the effort they put into the game during the last few days.
