Fisheries Officers Back From Outer Islands

Two fisheries officers returned on the last voyage of the MV Manufolau from the central islands.

The fisheries extension and development officer, Samuelu Telii and the Assistant Extension Officer, Sikela Ulumutu went to do interviews together with the people on the existing posts within the Community Fisheries Center (CFC) in Nui and Nukufetau.

According to Samasoni Finekaso Director of Fisheries the same work will be continued by the same officers, on other CFCs on Nanumea, Nanumaga and Niutao Islands on the next available ship to the Northern Islands.

The trips are funded under the recurrent budget of the Fisheries Department.
