Minister or Home Affairs Hon Willy Telavi closed the negotiation workshop by the environment department last Friday.
In his speech he ssid he believes the participants of the workshop gained a lot of new knowledge from the three day workshop.
He hopes more workshops such as this one will be made available for Tuvaluan civil servants as well as those working in the private sector, so they can learn how negotiations are done with government and representatives of international bodies.
He also said it’s important for civil servants who have the chance of representing the country abroad in meetings to be equipped with negotiation skills and techniques to be able to face representatives from other countries.
Minister Telavi closed with the statement that the workshop was a stepping stone in getting the voice of Tuvalu heard at International meetings.
