Pre-service students return to study

Eight pre-service students undergoing studies overseas under the Tuvalu Government scholarships scheme traveled on yesterday’s flight to their respective place of study.
These include first year students and those who continue on their second year of studies.
Five students will continue their second year of study at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.
They include Vaegano Puapua and Amalinda Satupa who are studying for Bachelor in Education. Moe Saitala will continue her Bachelor in Economics and Triny Uluao who is currently studying for her second year in pursuing her Bachelor in Industrial Relations, while Efren Jogia will attend the School of Law at the USP Emalus Campus in Vanuatu.
The training officer in the Ministry of Education said that three students will undergo their study at the Fiji Institute of Technology-FIT.
They include Panama Niuatui who is studying for Diploma in Architectural Drafting, Afega Leti who is studying for his second year to obtain a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering while Talavalu will start his Diploma in Architectural Drafting this year.
The other two students who currently sponsored by AusAID and NZAID also traveled on the same flight.
They include Mataituhi Toafa who will continue his Bachelor in Sports at Massey University in New Zealand and Kelisiano Niuatui who will study for a Bachelor in Civil Engineering.
The training officer further states that some of the pre-service students are still waiting to travel overseas.
