Forum Secretariat in Tuvalu

Two Forum Secretariat Staff were in the country from the 4th to the 11th of this month on a consultation visit and a workshop with the Officials from the Government, Non-Governmental Organization and Private Sectors.

According to the Trade Officer, Pugameau Taufilo a request was made by the government to the Forum Secretariat for the two consultants to carry out such visits on the Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreements (PICTA) implementations.

During the visit the Trade Advisor Shiu Raj and Trade Policy Officer, Malie Lototele also finalised the Tuvalu Offers on trading in services under the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) with the thirty officials who attended the one day workshop.

The finalising of Tuvalu Offers would be prepared for submission to the Cabinet.

Mr Raj and Mr Lototele left the country on Monday this week.
